The mortal remains of eminent cardiologist, writer and orator Dr Kabi Prasad Mishra was consigned to flames at the Swargdwar crematorium here on Wednesday. His eldest son Bibeka Prasad Mishra lit the funeral pyre.
Family members, friends and well wishers accompanied Dr Mishra’s body to the crematorium. Noted among them was his close friend and former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik.
Dr Mishra died following a massive heart attack on Saturday while he was addressing a gathering at the YMCA Cuttack on the occasion of launching of a book co-authored by him and Ashalata Chouhan. Dr Mishra’s voice got choked and he collapsed on the dais. He was rushed to the Ashwini Hospital where he breathed his last at 10:30 pm. He was 77.
