The victim girl ,who was sexually harassed at her job place by the president of Kendrapara Credit Co-operative Society and was forced to give resignation on Friday threatened to commit suicide if she failed to get justice from police . She threatened that the police and the district authorities would be responsible for her death.
According to SP, Kendrapara ,Niti Sekhar, the victim’s statement has been recorded and steps have been taken to send the seized audio clips for examination at the State Forensic Scientific laboratory at Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the District Social Welfare Office has asked the Local Complaint Committee to conduct an inquiry at DSWO office on Saturday pertaining to the victim’s petition, filed on October 16 under Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, protection and Redressal )Act, 2013 against accused Pramod Kumar Sahu, the president of Kendrapara Credit Co-operative Society.
Meanwhile, the BJP women wing of the district and the Pradesh Chhatra Congress demanded immediate arrest of Sahu.
