Having failed to get relief from bull menace, the affected farmers of Karanja gram panchayat under Mahakalapada block in a unique protest showed their anger to the local administration by driving a herd of bulls to the local panchayat office premises.
The farmers alleged that they have been spending sleepless nights due to the bull menace for last couple of years. Several bulls are roaming scot-free in and around the panchayat. The bovines are allegedly destroying the standing paddy crops and vegetables by straying into the agriculture fields.
They alleged that though several times, the affected farmers have knocked the doors of the local BDO, the tehsildar of Mahakalapada and PRI members for a relief but in vain. Meanwhile, the locals have appealed for supply of fodder and grass to the bulls in the village ,so that they would not stray.
