To check corruption made by employees of the Kendrapada Block office, the BDO has issued a notification recentlyasking the public not to give PC (percentage) to any official.
If any official forces them to pay bribe, then they can bring it tothe notice of the BDO so that stern departmental action can beinitiated against the errant official, the notification said. In this regard, BDO Aswini Das affixed posters in the office wall by asking the public to cooperate with him to end the PC culture in theblock office.
Recently, large scale of corruption came to the fore, where theofficials allegedly by making an unholy nexus with some of thesarpanchs, encouraged the contractors to do sub-standard works underseveral Government sponsored projects.
Even, people of several gram panchayats too staged agitationprotesting against the corruption in Government sponsored projects. While some intellectuals welcomed the move of the BDO to checkcorruption, some others stated that to revive the image of theKendrapada Panchayat Samiti office before the upcoming panchayatelection, the BDO has taken such a move.
