In an interesting instance, a baby elephant, which had fallen into a well of a field near village Keseipali in the loisingha Forest Range on Thursday morning, was rescued by fellow elephants and taken back into forest. According to sources, elephant squad members of the Forest Department came to know about the incident of the baby elephant falling inside the well in the morning. When they tried to go near the spot, they were chased by the herd of elephants. There was dense fog in the area in the morning. This helped the elephants carry out their baby rescue operation for a long time. In the process, the jumbos damaged the stone wall in the well before they could rescue the baby elephant and take it to the Chelia Reserve Forest.
