A massive herd of elephants was seen passing NH-55 near the Haladiabahal Gadasila Section under Dhenkanal Forest Range early on Tuesday morning. A video capturing the jumbo herd passing through the road was a treat to the eyes.
Around 50 elephants, including claves, were found crossing the NH disrupting vehicular movements.
Road traffic on the Cuttack-Sambalpur route was affected. Sources said that the elephants had strayed out of Dhenkanal district’s the Mahabirod Forest Range in Parjang and headed towards the Matharagadi Reserve Forest crossing the Brahmani river.
