The Balangir Chhatra Samaj and some human RTI activists on Friday demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged corruption in the Revenue Inspector (RI), Assistant RI and Amin examinations-2013 held in Balangir district.
The Office of Balangir Collector and District Magistrate on December 17, 2014 had released advertisement for recruitment of 13 RIs, 17 ARIs and 24 Amins and the written test for the same was held on June 9 last year under the direct supervision of Collector Debaraj Mishra. Around 1,400 applicants participated in the test.
“Neither were the examinations held in a proper way nor were the answer sheets scrutinised properly. Many high level district administration officials including the Collector were involved in the corruption,” alleged rights activist Pradip Pradhan in a Press conference here.
It was further exposed through an RTI answer that though the advertisement of the district administration had invited application for a total of 54 vacant posts including RI, ARI and Amin posts but at least 167 persons have been appointed in the district while in many cases answer sheets of the examinees were manipulated, said Pradhan.
“The State Government should order for a judicial for the establishment of truth in order to give justice to the innocent poor students,” said Bipra Prasad Nanda, an
examinee.
