The JSW Utkal Steel, which is proposing to set up a plant in Dhinkia near Paradip, as part of its CSR activities, donated a few articles and play materials to the 15 Anganwadi Centres functioning in project area.
The Anganwadi Centres have been painted and renovated and play articles, schoolbags, books, utensils and swings have been provided. For last two years, these Anganwadi Centres had been nonfunctional due to the Covid pandemic. After they were reopened, damages were found as Government agencies had paid no heed to repair them.
JSW officials conducted a field visit and collected the feedback from the Anganwadi Centres and decided to help them. About Rs 23 lakh was spent for making the centres' facelift.
