locals have started suspecting the Jharsuguda town police in handling the tribal woman’s sex MMS video uploading case as the accused was yet to be arrested after passing of a week of lodging of the FIR.
Sources said the woman had lodged an FIR in the Jharsuguda PS a week back alleging that one Chinmay Kumar Das (30) of Sarbahal uploaded her sex MMS video in a mobile phone. Though a week has passed, police are yet to arrest the accused youth.
It is now alleged a senior officer of the PS is indirectly giving sufficient opportunity to the accused to escape by not arresting him. It is also alleged that the officer is giving offers to the woman’s husband for a compromise in the case.
The image of the Jharsuguda town police has also been tarnished in the Bust Stand firing case. People blame particularly the said police officer for inaction.On the other hand, the police have refuted such allegations. locals have urged the district Collector to intervene in the tribal woman’s allegation and provide justice to her.
