Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das discussed many issues with SE Railway Divisional Railway Manager Chhatrapal Singh during the latter’s visit to Jharsuguda on Saturday.
Das stressed on development of the Jharsuguda station besides construction of two over-bridges at Balijori and Chowkipara and making the escalator operational at the Jharsuguda station soon. He also requested the DRM for attachment of a sleeper compartment in the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express for the benefit of passengers. These demands had also been made by Das before the then Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, he pointed out.
Due to lack of sincerity of the Railways to solve the problems in a time-bound manner, Das expressed his resentment before the DRM and said that there would be public agitation in the coming days if the demands are not taken up on a priority basis.
Taking cognisance of all the demands, the DRM assured that efforts would be made to solve the problems within coming three months.
