J'suguda lawyers call for no China goods

In view of the escalating tensions at the India-China borders, members of the Jharsuguda District Bar Association held a unique bike rally sending messages among the public to boycott use of Chinese products here on Monday.

Association president Raghumani Patel said the objective of the protest was to sensitise the citizens of the district about the harms they are unknowingly causing to the nation by consuming Chinese products while the neighbouring country continues to remain antagonistic towards India by creating border disputes and propping up India’s arch rival Pakistan economically and diplomatically.

Patel added that the association members are also pleading shopkeepers to stop selling ‘Made-in-China’ products.

The rally was organised from the District Court to Big Bazaar with protesters shouting anti-China slogans and setting many Chinese goods on fire at different places.
