The Jharsuguda District Congress Committee organised a workshop on the MGNREGA and the Food Security Act (FSA) here on Sunday.
Social Activist Anant Panda imparted training on MGNREGA and FSA to Congress workers, who came from different blocks of the district. He discussed various aspects of the two Acts and negligence in its implementation in the State. “Only 40 days of work are being provided to beneficiaries in Odisha under MGNREGA which is contrary to the provisions of the Act,” observed Panda.Panda too alleged irregularities in implementation of the NFSA and distribution of ration cards in the State. Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das, former Minister KC Patel, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Renuka Kanshrali and party’s lakhanpur block president Sanat Singh, Congress vice-president Raghunandan Padhi and secretary Siddhartha Sarkar were present.
