Two persons were arrested from Rourkela on Wednesday night for their alleged involvement in the loot from the Bank of India’s Beheramal branch in Jharsuguda district in May this year.
A revolver was seized from their possession, sources said.
Notably, 10 to 12 armed robbers had looted over Rs 86 lakh from the bank on May 5.
The men who had masks on their faces and were armed with pistols and knives first overpowered the officer, who was officiating as the branch manager, and later at gunpoint huddled all bank employees and customers into one room.
They first took away whatever cash was lying at the cash counter and later took away whatever was there in the strong room.
