A priest, Kunia Kar [52] of Basudebpur village under Odisho panchayat, six km from here, was found hanging from a tree in Tumba village on Saturday.
Family members revealed that on Saturday morning he had gone to his temple but surprisingly his body was found hanging.
Surprisingly, the locals and family members cremated the body in village crematorium without informing the police and performing postmortem.
