SP Sudha Singh transferred four IICs and five SIs from their respective police stations in the district. Controversial IIC of Jagatsinghpur police station Sanjeev Mohanty was shifted to Raghunathpur police station while Devendra Mallick replaced him.Naugaon police station IIC Manoranjan Choudhury was transferred to the district police headquarters.
Saraswati Satapathy who was working at the district headquarters was shifted to Paradip marine police station, while SI Suchitra Das was posted at Naugaon police station and SI Dilip Swain who was working at Biridi police station moved to Tirtol police station. Paradip police station SI Binayak Diwabidi was transferred to Raghunathpur police station; Santosh Pradhan was shifted to Jagatsinghpur police station, while Sarat Rout from Naugaon police station was to join the Energy police station at Jagatsinghpur.
SP Singh described the police reshuffle as a routine procedure to rejuvenate police administration across the district, saying that no other reasons where there to execute the transfers. However, sources informed that the step was taken after an anti-police agitation by the lawyers and legal professionals here following police registered a case against the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Jagatsinghpur.
