The victim lodged a complaint with the police and service provider State Bank of India, Kujang branch, on Friday.

Mathurananda Parida, a resident of Bariha village under Gopiakuda Panchayat in Kujang block, three days ago had received a call from his mobile phone informing discrepancies in his ATM card and later he was told to inform 16 digit number of the ATM card.

Believing the caller, Parida disclosed his ATM card number forthwith, but surprisingly he received a mobile message that an amount Rs 46, 991 had been withdrawn from his bank account.

Soon after the incident he contacted the fraudulent mobile caller but the mobile number which the former had used was switched off.
