Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested health worker from the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Aurobinda Kanungo in a bribery case. He was caught red-handed accepting illegal gratification of Rs 3,000 from one Sukanya Acharya of Panchapally village under Erasama block. Complainant Sukanya had approached the DHH seeking a livelihood certificate for her uncle Purna Chandra Mishra. Consequently, she had contacted Kanungo.
But the latter demanded Rs 5,000 for the work and took Rs 500 as advance a few days ago. On complaint of Sukanya, a trap was laid by the Vigilance police.
