Police on Friday night raided a house and picked up two persons, Niranjan Jena and his wife Gitanjali Jena and forwarded them to court. They are accused of dowry torture and murder and had been absconding.
One married woman Bhabani Jena hailing from Gothina village under Raghunathpur area had died following severe burn injuries in her in-laws house.
Her father Pancanan Jena had lodged an FIR in Raghunathpur police station against her in- laws, alleging that his daughter had been killed following dowry torture.
The deceased woman delivering a dying statement in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in presence of Magistrate and police had disclosed names of Niranjan and Gitanjali of having poured kerosene and lit fire on her body due to an altercation occurred in house.
The police had launched a manhunt to nab the two alleged culprits.
