A businessman luna Satapathy hailing from Tertanga village under Balikuda area was robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh at gun point on Saturday night at Tertang Bazar area.
He was returning home at night when three bike borne goons waylaid him and one of the pillion riders hit his head. Soon, Satapathy fell unconscious. Taking the advantage, the miscreants snatched his cash bag carrying about Rs 2.5 lakh. The victim was rescued by a few residents of the locality, who send him to Balikuda hospital.
Satapathy is undergoing treatment and his health condition is stated to be stable. Balikuda police station IIC said a manhunt has been launched to trace the miscreants. “It seems to be a pre-planned operation in which the outlaws were stalking the victim. We are questioning the victim,” the IIC informed.
