Thousands of people and family members bade a tearful farewell to former Minister, MP and Congress veteran laxman Mallick, whose mortal remains were consigned to flames at his native Govindapur village under Biridi block on Sunday evening.
Political leaders cutting across party affiliations, local MP Dr Kulamani Samal, MlAs Chiranjib Biswal (Jagatsinghpur) and Rajashree Mallick (Tirtol), former MlA Bishnu Das, district Collector, civil and police officials converged at the village grave yard and took the last glimpse of the illustrious son of the soil. They all said with the demise of Mallick Odisha lost a great leader of the time.
