The second death anniversary of lawyer Gyanada Charan Mohanty was observed by the Jagatsinghpur Bar Association with meeting held in the association conference hall on Monday.
Bar association president Subrat Satapathy chaired the meeting, in which senior lawyers Gorachand Kaunngo, Rabindra Nath Mohanty, Bilas Lenka, Purnendu Mouli Mohanty, Rabindra Nath Swain, Rajkishor Behera and others were present.
The speakers recalled the late Mohanty’s contribution to the bar association, of which he was the first president since the sub-divisional court was set up in Jagatsinghpur in the year 1967. Advocate Basudev, who was the main organiser of the meeting, said Mohanty had been a source of inspiration for many young lawyers during his legal practising period. A souvenir incorporating Mohanty’s profile was released by the association president.
