To create awareness and sensitise local community members on Japanese Encephalitis (JE), the JSPl Foundation of Jindal Steel and Power ltd (JSPl) launched a three-day campaign in Koira block here recently.
TRB Iron Ore Mine unit head Pramod Kumar Patra said, “Healthcare being the core area of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme we have been following it consciously with an aim to sensitise locals about the JE. Besides awareness, people’s participation is essential to overcome the challenge.”
He also demonstrated and discussed the benefits of vaccination with the participants and urged them to spread the message among other communities. During the campaign, a five-member team led by JSPl’s Dr Debasis Dutta interacted with the people in more than 10 villages and held meetings in nearby schools to make the students aware about the killer disease.
