The Joda BJP Municipality Committee on Wednesday sent 14 boxes containing earth from the local worship places and iron pieces including signatures of local contributors for construction of a statue of Sardar Ballabbhai Patel resembling the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.
A meeting was earlier held under the chairmanship of civic body committee president Ranjit Mahkud for the purpose. Among others, Santosh Naik, Santosh Sahoo, Pawan Kumar Khan, Dhrutibandhu Patra, Ajaya Kumar Sinha and Janmjeya Sahoo were present. All the participants vowed to work for the unity of the nation under the leadership of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
