After hours of grilling on Wednesday, the Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday arrested Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi’s close aide V Sarbeswar Rao in connection with his alleged job fraud.
Rao, who was absconding earlier, is a former Principal of the City College in Brahmapur. He has been arrested for his involvement in fraudulent activities on the pretext of providing jobs in the Tata Motors. As per CB sources, Rao used to send lists of students to David Peter, personal secretary of Akash Pathak, who is the main accused in the job scam.During interrogation, Peter had revealed Rao’s name before CB officials. Rao used to be seen in various programmes of MLA Panigrahi.
Meanwhile, Paznigrahi was produced before court as his remand period ended and was again sent to the Jharpada jail here.
