A 25-year-old jilted lover was arrested on Tuesday on the charges of killing a girl’s mother and injuring her and her father at village Mirzapur under the Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district on Sunday night.
The accused Sunil Kumar Jena of Mirzapur had been turned down by the girl he loved. Recently, the girl’s parents had abused him which made him furious. He took a sharp weapon and attacked them, said Jajpur SDPO Chinmaya Nayak.
The body of Tarulata Biswal (50), a teacher of the Ananta Kumari Girls’ High School at Mirzapur, was found lying in a pool of blood on Monday. Her husband Nityananda Mallick (55) and their 17-year-old daughter were also found in critical conditions in their house.
During investigation, police got some clues which led to the arrest of the Youth. “We also seized the blood-stained sharp weapon from him. He was produced in the court at Jajpur on Tuesday. The court rejected his bail application and remanded him to jail custody.
