In view of the rising nuisance by fake journalists in Jharsuguda district, SP Aswini Kumar Mohanty on Saturday said police would take exemplary action against such journalists very shortly.
He also informed that the Information and Public Relations Department has been requested to provide a list of journalists accredited by the Government.
As alleged, some persons are posing as media representatives to collect illegal money from Government officials, the Truck Owners’ Association, contractors, MCL officials, political leaders and police as well.
Fake journalists are collecting huge money from mines and industries. Some of them are also uploading objectionable videos in social media in the name of different television channels. Some mafias and criminal persons are creating hindrance in the working of actual journalists and deterrent action against them is underway, said the SP.
