Jharsuguda MlA moves High Court

An appeal petition has been filed by Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das in the Orissa High Court for his membership in District Mineral Foundation (DMF).

The membership for MlA in the DMF has been provided under rules for those areas having mines and minerals.  But in case of Jharsuguda district, injustice has been done to the MlA in not granting membership of the DMF for which he sought intervention of the High Court, said Das to the mediapersons on Thursday.

He further added that DMF is getting substantial amount from coal mines at Talabira-1 and Talabira-2 under Jharsuguda Assembly constituency. Das does not understand the reason for which he has been deprived of the membership.

When asked about the fund utilisation and project implementation from DMF fund, Das replied that he is happy with the development for the people. But, on getting membership in the DMF, he will take necessary steps for utilisation of the funds for public welfare.

Instead of developing infrastructure, there is no harm in undertaking small projects like digging of bore wells.  He is in favour of utilising maximum funds for periphery welfare and CSR fund for welfare projects.

Further, he is very much hopeful for utilising his best for an upcoming medical college at Jharsuguda, added Naba Das further.
