The cement concrete (CC) road from the new fish market to Jayanagar being constructed by a contractor after approval of the tender by the municipality here is of low standard and the materials used for the construction are below par, alleged the residents of Park Street and New Street areas here.
They blamed the civic authorities for lack of supervision of the work and said adequate water is not given to the CC road under construction. Several residents raised concern over the durability of the road.
They also said that the present road is much narrower than the previous one.
"This is not one instance. All the roads constructed under the Jeypore municipal area are of low and sub standard quality which should be monitored properly," demanded BJP leader Bulu Sahu.
