Unidentified miscreants looted jewelleries worth lakhs of rupees from a jewellery shop at Patitatabana Chhack in Khordha town on Tuesday night.
The burglars entered the shop by breaking open the shutters. Getting information, police rushed to the spot and collected fingerprints , CCTV footage and other evidence with the help of a forensic team.
Police sources reveal that the miscreants have reportedly cut out the CCTV camera connection before going on a loot rampage inside the shop. The police are also questioning locals to collect clues about the burglary and the miscreants involved in it.
However, the shop owner said though he was sure about the extent of the loot, gold and silver worth lakhs were missing from his shop. Police suspect the hand of professionals in the loot, as the CCTV installed in the shop was tampered with before execution of the crime.
