In another development in the Minati Pradhan acid attack case, the police on Tuesday arrested a jeweller, Rohit Mangesh Srikhande, for providing acid to her accused husband Niranjan Pradhan.

Srikhande belongs to Sangri district of Maharashtra and is a resident of Malisahi in Polsara for 10 years. Srikhande was arrested after Pradhan confessed to have procured the acid from him during interrogation.

Police sources said Pradhan had allegedly procured the chemical from a city jeweller promising to help him get his Aadhaar card.

Srikhande delivered the acid packed in a medicine bottle to the accused and the latter gave Rs 100 to Srikhande, said ASP Shantanu Das.

However, Srikhande did not have an Aadhaar card despite living in Polsara for the last 10 years. He contacted Pradhan for an Aadhaar card and the latter promised to get it for him if he gave him some acid.

later, Rohit packed the nitric acid in a 100 ml medicine bottle and gave it to Pradhan and got Rs 100 for it.
