The Vigilance police on Monday raided multiples places in connection with allegation against Bikash Kumar Behera, Junior Engineer (GPTA), Tileibani block, Deogarh district, regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. During the raids, as many as 60 plots of land, a four-wheeler, Rs 1 lakh in cash and a double-storied building at Balam in district were found in possession of Behera and his family members by Vigilance officers. Simultaneous house searches were conducted by Vigilance at three places in Deogarh district. Three teams comprising four DSPs, two Inspectors and other staffs, carried out the raids on the strength of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
Till last reports came in, the raids were underway and calculation of total the value of Behera’s movable and immovable properties was yet to be completed.
