The Vigilance police on Thursday arrested an engineer on the charge of corruption for amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The accused Gagan Kumar Bindhani is posted as Junior Engineer (JE) in Puri Sadar. He was caught red-handed arrested while taking the bribe.
Following his arrest, a team of Vigilance officials conducted a raid on his ancestral residence at Ananda Bazaar under Betnoti block in Mayurbhanj district.
The team comprising Inspector Satyananda Ghadei and ASIs Namita Nayak, Mangal Hembrarm and Basudeb Adhikari also raided the house on instruction of Baleswar Vigilance SP Sunil Kumar Senapati.
