Road accidents at two places in the State claimed lives of at least three persons, including a Junior Engineer (JE), on Thursday.
A car by which Kankadahad block JE S Naveen Kumar (50) was travelling with his wife S Prashanti hit a truck near Guneibili under the Tumusingha police limits in Dhenkanal district, killing him on the spot and injuring the woman critically.
The injured was admitted to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
In the other incident, an elderly woman and her grandson died after an SUV hit a truck on NH-16 at Sunakhala in Khordha district. The deceased were returning to Bhubaneswar from Bissamcuttack in Rayagada district by the SUV when the tragedy took place.
