Three eminent persons from the fields of journalism, politics and literature will be felicitated during the first death anniversary observation of former Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik on April 21.
Senior journalist Maheswar Mulia, noted economist Dr Baidyanath Mishra and renowned social activist Dr Achyuta Samanta will be honoured for their contributions in their respective fields.
This was announced by State-level JB Patnaik Smruti Committee vice-president Dr Bimalendu Mohanty, general secretary Aryakumar Jnanendra and treasurer Dr Badrinath Pattnaik at a Press meet here on Monday.
leader of Opposition and committee president Narasingha Mishra will preside over the function. AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi will give away the awards. Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra will also join the event.
“As the former Odisha chief minister had started his career as a journalist, later entered politics and also had made an immense contribution to literature and culture, it was decided to honour three persons belonging to these fields in the State,” said the committee general secretary.
