BJP leader and former MlA of Sambalpur and former Minister Jayanarayan Mishra was released from jail on Thursday. He had been arrested on April 15 for violating Section 144 CrPC by displaying a sword and misbehaving with a police officer on duty on the day of Hanuman Jayanti here.
Mishra had, in fact, secured bail from the district court on Wednesday, but due to the order issued late he had to stay in jail for the day. As Mishra came out of the jail on Thursday, hundreds of BJP workers led by district president Nauri Nayak and Girish Patel greeted him at the jail gate. In a vast procession they brought Mishra first to the BJP office here.
Mishra told the media, “Nobody can suppress my voice to protect Hinduism as it is in danger now. Declaration of 144 A by the administration was totally illegal. Hence, I protested the illegal action.”
