Pradesh Congress Committee president Jayadev Jena and party's State campaign committee chief and Union Minister Srikant Jena on Monday evening staged dharna in front of the Governor's house after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik didn't respond to their challenge to have a public debate.
The two Congress leaders had on Thursday challenged the BJD chief to come to a public debate on three issues, mining scam, chit fund scam and Central assistance. They had set an ultimatum for Patnaik to respond to their proposed debate by Monday. Former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamango and other leaders of the party joined the two heavyweights at the dharna place.
