Jaya produced in court, sent to jail again

The police on Tuesday produced former Minister and former Sambalpur MlA Jayanarayan Mishra before the SDJM Court in a 2016 case registered at the Dhanupali police station against Mishra for waving sword on the day of Hanuman Jayanti flouting a standing ban order.

At the same time, the police also produced Shiv Dewan in the same case. But as their bail petition was rejected, the duo was sent to Sohela jail where they are now staying in connection with Banabira murder case.

Notably, Mishra was arrested by the Sambalpur police for the same allegation of waving sword in the year 2015 and after staying nine days in judicial custody, he was granted bail. He also repeated the same practice in the year 2016 but police could not arrest him since he was under medical treatment.

Mishra in his reaction said that the BJD tried to bring him to the party fold but in vain. “Hence, a vindictive BJD is trying to put me in trouble and harass me utilising the police,” he alleged.
