Published on:

Setting an example of bravery and humanity, CRPF jawans in the cutoff areas of Chitrakonda in Malkangiri district carried two tribal women on slings for over 7 km to hospitl as they were severely injured due to explosion of pressure bombs installed by Maoists.

The incident occurred on Saturday when the jawans were busy in combing operations in the dense jungles on the Malkangiri-Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) border. To counter the police operations, the Maoists had implanted the bombs across the forest. The two tribal women were passing through the forest during when they stepped on the pressure bombs.

Hearing their screams, the jawans rushed to the women and immediately created slings to carry the women to hospital. Meanwhile, on their way, one of the jawans stepped on another pressure bomb set up by Maoists and was injured critically. The jawans then carried their injured team member too.
