Odisha’s ace women sprinters Jauna Murmu and Purnima Hembram have taken admission at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) to pursue postgraduate and bachelor degree courses, respectively, from the 2017-18 academic session.
KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said it is a matter of pride that sprinters like Jauna and Purnima would pursue education at the KISS.
He said, “KISS will provide all athletic facilities to them besides free education.” Students of the institute would be encouraged by their joining, he added.
The institution has been promoting sports at the national and international levels besides providing quality education to its students and would take care of these two stars for their proper training and a bright future in sports, added Dr Samanta.
He also hoped for their participation in coming Olympics.
