Jatni Tehsildar asked to take back 87 acres

Published on:

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Friday directed the Jatni Teshildar to take back 87.55 acres of land allotted to 42 people at Chandihota Mouza under Jatni tehsil.

According to reports, the land was allotted under the Economic Rehabilitation of Rural Poor (ERRP) scheme during 1980-81 to 42 persons.

“Since the land is adjacent to the proposed Infocity-II and is useful for the State Government, the department has directed the Jatni Tehsildar to reacquire the land,” informed Revenue Minister SN Patro.

Earlier, the beneficiaries had moved the High Court seeking permanent ownership of the land. Following the court’s intervention, the Revenue Department had undertaken a survey on the necessity of acquiring the land.
