Jatni Congress MLA Suresh Kumar Routray on Wednesday threatened to gherao the Lokseva Bhawan (State Secretariat) on March 1 if the problems in his constituency are not addressed by the State Government by February-end.
Addressing a Press conference, Routray said he along with his supporters, the people of 27 villages of Jatni block and municipality would gherao the Lokseva Bhawan if their private lands are not given back to them. These lands were recorded as Sthitiban in the Patta in the villagers’ names since their ancestral periods.
The Government suddenly changed the ownerships and changed the RoRs) in the name of Lord Jagannath during the last settlement. Due to this, around 1.72 lakh people are not able to sell or purchase the lands and avail to State or Central schemes.
