Acting on a disproportionate assets complaint, Vigilance police on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on the office and houses of Jatani Municipality Surveyor Bhikhyakari Sahu and found properties worth Rs 6,634 lakh in his name and names of family members.
Sahu’s residential house at Raja Bazar and a building at Sitaram Chhak in Jatani, paternal house at Tarabala in Nayagarh district, office room at Jatani and the Revenue office at Jatani were searched.
The movable assets detected included gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4.26 lakh and bank deposits of Rs 2.85 lakh. Similarly, immovable assets include a double storied building at Raja Bazar and one building at Sitaram Chhak in Jatani.
