Jajpur Road Railway Station Mukhya Daka Ghar (RSMDG) Post Master Debaranjan Deo filed an FIR at Jajpur Road Model Police Station on Monday against the postal agents who regularly entered into the post office and worked inside by sitting on the chairs meant for the staff.
Their interference is so much that the public considers them as regular postal staff and the business of the Post Office often gets hampered due to such a practice.
Despite several written and verbal directions given by Post Master Deo, the agents disregarded them all. Besides, on July 25, 2022, the Chief PostMaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar had forbidden entry of postal agents into the Post Offices. Deo, however, had allowed the agents of the locality to enter between 3 pm and 5 pm daily on all working days except Saturday (1 pm and 2.30 pm) for their works. As digital systems became mandatory from July, 2022, the illegal practices of the agents got recorded on the CCTV footage. Deo filed an FIR against four agents, Kartick Chandra Mohanty, Srikant Mohanty, Basant Mohapatra and Sandhya Pujari at Jajpur Road PS on Monday seeking police intervention against the rule breakers.
