Jajpur Sub-Jail Superintendent Bailochan Dash was arrested by Vigilance sleuths of Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs9,600 from Dipak Kumar Behera of Routrapur in Jajpur district.
Behera alleged that he had supplied edible items to the Sub-Jail, Jajpur. Accused Superintendent Dash had passed excess bills in respect of the edible items supplied to the jail and demanded Rs 9,600 as bribe for the favour. Finding no other alternative, Behera complained to the Vigilance.
A trap was laid on Tuesday and Dash was caught red handed in his office room.
