A retired teacher of Singhpur village under Binjharapur block in Jajpur district recently helped the police to arrest his son’s killer after five years.
Sanjit Das had murdered Krushna Prasad Thatoi’s son Ranjan Thatoi on June 1, 2011 at Singhpur village. “I visited many places in the State and outside to track down my son’s killer. Though police had arrested six accused persons who were involved in my son’s murder within a month, but they had failed to nab the main accused Sanjit Das. Recently, I came to know that Das was working in a hotel in Brahmapur under the guise of Sanjay lenka for which I informed the police. The police arrested him on Thursday,” said Krushna Prasad (67).
Krushna Prasad rejoiced on Friday with his widowed daughter - in-law and other family members after the alleged killer of his son was behind the bars.
Jajpur SP Anoop Kumar Sahoo praised Krushna Prasad whose tireless search led to the arrest of the murderer.
“I applaud him. It’s admirable what he did. We have decided to felicitate him on the Independence Day at Jajpur,” said Jajpur SP Anup Kumar Sahoo.
