The police drained a pond on Monday in Jajpur district to search the remains of three-year-old girl Pihu who has been missing for more than six months. However, no evidence of the child in the pond or surrounding area could be obtained.
Subhalaxmi alias Pihu, daughter of Laxman Nayak, was last seen on August 9 at Madhusudanpur village under Binjharapur police station. Her parents on August 10 filed an FIR, but police are yet to locate her. Her parents and other relatives sat on a dharna in front of house of Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahu in Bhubaneswar recently, following which police formed a special squad to investigate case.
