Saumya Patnaik of Udaipur village under Kimbiriyapal Panchayat of Bari area in Jajpur district besides two others were arrested by the STF in a robbery case. He was trading birds and pets and is suspected to be involved in anti-India activities and have links with Pakistan.
Son of a Railway employee, Soumya’s lifestyle was extravagant. According to the information received from his mother, Soumya was trading various types of exotic parrots, dogs and other species of birds in her house for about two years after matriculation. He was driving expensive cars and bikes worth lakhs of rupees, besides using six expensive mobiles. The STF arrested him in a loot case on the late night of May 12.
