A total of 60 prisoners’ children and 50 deaf and dumb children would jointly stage a dharna in front of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Kumar Dasburma’s residence on the Children’s Day.
They would protest against the Khordha Civil Supplies Officer’s (CSO) failure to lift the APl rice for them without any reason from September.
Nearly 200 sex workers along with 100 eunuchs would lead the protest, Odisha Patita Udhar Samiti secretary Abharani Choudhury informed.
Members of the Satyabhama Devi Welfare Trust would also lend help to its hearing-impaired students during the dharna, said Managing trustee of the trust Nirojalaxmi Mohapatra.
If no action is taken by November 11 for lifting of APl rice for the Madhur Mayee Adarsha Siksha Niketan and the Satyabhama Devi College then they would stage dharna on November 14, they said. They have also demanded financial assistance to the children of prisoners.
