Jail Bharo stir in D'nal: Activist meets DGP

Published on:

landless people’s forum chief Debashisha Hota met DGP and handed over jail bharo notice by over 5,000 supporters, including 3,000 women, at Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district on September 7 against inaction of local police.

Hota demanded arrest of Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick and BJD District Youth president Jashobanta Parida.

He mentioned that cabins of poor people have been broken in Kamakhyanagar citing a Supreme Court’s direction during October 2016.

But no eviction was done on the 2.70 acres land belonging to the Soil Conservation Department in Kamakhyanagar and occupied by BJD District Youth president Parida, even after October 21, 2016  judgement of the High Court of Odisha.

Hota alleged that afraid of the lawful proceedings and rallies by his supporters, Parida organized murderous attack on activist Ranjan Kumar lenka thrice in last five days. The local police are not taking any action since the accused belongs to the ruling party and is a close aide of Minister Mallick.
