After a night halt at the Sai temple near Tankapani in Bhubaneswar on Monday, the Jagannath Daru Sagadi on Tuesday evening resumed its journey amid tight police security. The Sagadi reached at Pipili and was kept at the Mahaveer temple late on Tuesday night from where it would again start its journey to the final destination of Puri on Wednesday afternoon.
Elaborate police arrangements were made by the Commissionerate Police for smooth passage of the holy wood along the Bhubaneswar-Puri bypass. Thousands of devotees thronged the Sai temple near Tankapani road to offer prayers to the Daru braving the hot sun. It was expected that the Daru would reach the Koili Baikuntha inside the Shree Jagannath Temple by May 22.
